We believe in building long lasting relationships with our value chain partners to create products of the highest standards.
Pillars
Sourcing
Each of our products is sourced mindfully, tracing its value chain back to its start. We want you to be fully informed on where and how the product is made. Above all, we want those products to last. Therefore, design is at the core of our selection process.
Raw Materials
We opt for materials presenting a reduced environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle. Such as organic cotton, recycled stainless steel, or bio-based plastics.
Transport
Conscious of the impact of transport, we chose to avoid air shipping and favor slower transportation modes such as train or boat for long distances. These emit up to 150 times less than planes.
Partners
All of our partners are validated by being reviewed through our selection criteria. This helps us ensuring that we work with companies that both respect our climate values and empower their workers.
Our factories
Since its launch in 2012, STANLEY/STELLA has focused on simplicity, highlighting the essence of the garment. They want to break codes and to change the perception of the textile industry. To offer products that respect people, the environment and customers. To produce more authentic and more responsible clothes that you are proud to wear and sell. Pieces that initiate change in the textile industry, made in a more humane, ethical and ecological way.
More than 99% of Stanley/Stella textile production is made in Bengladesh in their 5 partner factories. The jackets in recycled polyester are made in China (Shuangxi).
Stanley/Stella is convinced that manufacturing in Asia is a good thing if done properly. And properly means respecting the rights of the men and women that they employ. It means giving them the means to acquire new skills and to receive education and training.
In Dhaka, they have a 19-person team, all Bangladeshi, that monitors their 5 partner factories every day. All of which are GOTS-certified and audited by the Fair Wear Foundation, of which Stanley/Stella is a recognized member. They also have a part-time Sourcing Manager in China to ensure Chinese suppliers' compliance with their quality standards and sustainable policies.
They favor organic or recycled materials that care for your skin and the environment.
Stanley/Stella never uses standard cotton. Most of the clothing is made from 100% organic cotton. Organic cotton is a natural, GMO-free fibre that uses less water than standard cotton. In addition, its production does not involve the use of chemicals (no fertilizers or pesticides) and encourages rotation of crops to keep soil healthier, more fertile and maintain humidity. Waste from the cotton ginning process is also recycled for the animal feed industry.
The entire production chain benefits from the strictest environmental certifications and labels in the market. Among them - GOTS. GOTS is the Global Organic Textile Standard label. The strictest certification for textiles made from organic fibres. GOTS tracks the entire chain of production from farm to factory: from harvesting of the cotton, weaving of fibres, assembly of items, to the final product before printing, including even the export of our clothing! It certifies that Stanley/Stella cotton is GMO-free and is grown without the use of chemicals and is processed and dyed without using any banned toxic substances. GOTS also ensures compliance with the labour standards of the International Labour Organisation throughout the chain of production.

The brewery is firstly a family story. The Humblet family was in search of a site to build a new brewery & continue their tradition and long list of beers brewed by their father, Benoit Humblet.
In 2011, they discovered the farm of Bertinchamps, situated not far from Gembloux in the countryside of Belgium.
Although extremely old and decayed, the farm had stunning character, situated in an environment that equals its prestige. It was time for some rejuvenation and the renovation project began immediately. The whole family embarks on this amazing project: to create and develop new authentic beers, but also restore a huge abandonment site, the Bertinchamps farm. Almost 2 years of remarkable work and finally in March 2013 the brewing system was installed in the old barns. Ultra modern fermentation tanks of a capacity of 6.000HL, an astonishing contrast of modern technology and the farm dating back more than 7 centuries.
Here is the story of the first European factory of recycled golf balls. More than 420 million golf balls are lost per year around the world. Knowing that a golf ball can take up to 1000 years to decompose, this represent an insanely huge amount of plastic waste to tackle. That's the bet of our golf ball factory located in Spain - contributing to preserve golf courses and reduce the world's pollution and waste accumulation.
They team up with the most prestigious golf courses all over the world, to collect used golf balls. In addition, they offer professional lake diving services to collect golf balls at the bottom of lakes. By using the most modern equipment in manufacturing they can reprocess golf balls and contribute to the recovery of their lost properties. In that way, they help to preserve the eco-system while providing high quality golf balls with less ressources.

The "kraft" manufacturing process is a perfectly closed loop, allowing the recovery and recycling of chemicals and materials from the industrial process, and the use of waste as a source of energy. The closing of the circuits and the sealing of this "loop" represent environmental as well as economic imperatives. In the logic of a "closed process", all materials from the process are collected and recovered: additives and treatments, cellulose fibers, etc. The recovery of energy and the control of its consumption are a priority, in order to achieve an ever increasing autonomy of the manufacturing site.

The plastic bottle company is a family business started by Alex and his sister. It all started in 2017 when Alex wanted to fight against the excessive use of disposable plastic bottles. In 2017, Alex and his sister decided to act and setup a factory of reusable plastic bottle. Their goal was simple - manufacturing reusable plastic bottles for a daily use, that could last and replace disposable plastic bottles. All bottles are made of high quality BPA-free plastic that is 100% recyclable and sourced locally. The factory has improved processes to limit their waste. All defected bottles are sent to recycling and the factory has no used-water. Water is used in the cooling systems of the machines and molds over and over but never used for cleaning.

Anna and Sophie are the two founders of hejhej-mats.
One day they visited an art exhibition in Gothenburg. In one artwork the Turkish female artist Pinar Yoldas accused yoga practitioners of acting hypocritically. Since they often think they are acting very sustainably, but then they do not think about their yoga mat. Through this artwork, the two of them felt caught and since that day we have been working on our sustainable yoga mat.
Their vision is to use sustainable yoga equipment to reduce the amount of plastic waste on our planet and promote conscious consumption. They are enthusiastic about raw materials that flow in endless cycles. Hejhej yoga mat is made from secondary raw materials and is 100% recyclable.
In 2018 our hejhej-mats were nominated for the federal ecodesign award.

For many years Michael Ma has been concerned about the environmental issues of global warming very, and constantly pondering the relationship between nature and our advanced culture. At some point, he randomly discovered a meaningful material that is composed of contradictory elements: grass and recycled plastic.
Natural grass is one of the most primitive plants in the world, which occupies 25% of the land, and is un-exhaustible in the world. Plastic is our civilized material of the last century but is exhaustible. It is damaging the environment and shall be controlled with coming regulations.
After years of thinking and exploration of nature and our modern culture, Michael was inspired to create a company improving the contradictory relationship between our civilized world and nature. His goal? Making natural grass and recycled plastic meet around an eco-friendly and design object to support recycling and carbon reduction. The grass pen factory does not only offer an eco-friendly product but also wants to raise the ecological consciousness by supporting various climate actions and NGOs.
The grass pen factory uses environmentally friendly processes. The pens are made with a blend of renewable and recycled raw materials (30% of natural grass and 70% of recycled and BPA-free PET). The factory is also optimized to avoid any waste of products or water. The water used for the production is coming straight from the grass and is always cleaned and treated such that the process is self-sufficient and doesn't require additional water.

Based in Scandinavia, Rains is a contemporary rainwear lifestyle brand.
They work with few, close manufacturing partners in order to build valuable partnerships that contribute to good quality, dialogue, sharing of knowledge, and responsible development. All of our Rains products are manufactured in Chinese factories with more than 15 years of experience in rainwear and performance garments. Rains is proud to partner with professional and ethical factories that produce high-quality products in safe working conditions. The factories are aligned with our employee standards, including but not exclusive to secure health insurance, proper working schedules, and clean working environments. While Rains values a dialogue-based supplier relationship, they find ethical audits to be a useful tool in gaining insight into our production. The audits help them to understand how their manufacturing partners work and identify potential risk areas. Their audits are conducted by specialist third-party auditors carefully selected by amfori BSCI – the leading global business association for open and sustainable trade. Going beyond monitoring, they engage in training and education programs to support their suppliers’ efforts in meeting Rains’ expectations.
Rains has specifically chosen sustainable materials. The PU-coating as it is significantly more environment-friendly than its hormone-disrupting alternatives: PVC and DWR-PFC. Light woven polyester fiber is used as the backside of the water-repellent PU-coating. Together, the polyester and the PU represents a strong construction that both keeps the fit and keeps you dry. The environmental benefit of polyester is that the synthetic material is completely recyclable, and by 2021, Rains' goal is to minimize its use of virgin polyester. To do this, Rains introduce a recycled polyester microfiber made of plastic bottles from a closed-loop system. Going forward, Rains will remain to have a focus on reducing their transport carbon footprint with the help of efficient capacity planning and by keeping the percentage of air freight down to a minimum (currently 6%).
When the aluminium bottle company was founded, more than 100 years ago, beverages and food were transported and stored in reusable containers. Back in the days, global warming and environmental awareness had nothing to do with that. It was just the only available option!
In addition to the need for durable containers, they had to be made of materials able to preserve contents for as long as possible. At a time when microwaves and refrigerators were still unknown words, the longer the food was kept warm and the fresher the water, the better. For this reason, since its foundation in the region of Murcia (Spain), back in 1912, conservation, reusability, quality and durability are words that have formed part of the aluminium bottle factory's DNA.
Today, things have changed a lot. Technology has evolved rapidly, materials and the way they are treated have changed, so did the finishes, the designs... Consumers are much more demanding in terms of design and performance, both at and outside home. In addition to this, the world is now facing one of the greatest challenges of this century: the reduction in the consumption of disposable plastic. And this new context makes the needs for conservation, reusability, quality and durability even more relevant than ever.
Although in a completely different way, 100 years later, foundations are still there. The aluminium bottle factory continues to manufacture bottles, canteens and other reusable containers made of aluminium of the highest quality and durability, offering maximum thermal performance and a very well thought-out design. The aluminium bottles are made of 99,7% pure aluminium. A specific coating is baked into the inner bottle walls. This high temperature curing binds the coating to the bottle interior and prevents it from ever chipping or flaking off. The coating is guaranteed to be BPA, Phthalates and lead free, as well as taste and scent neutral. All aluminum bottles are both reusable and recyclable.

Coralie and Clémentine have started AŸ, a French brand of cactus 100% made in Paris, whose pretty and very pop pots are customizable. All the production is made in a traditional way and in a local network in Paris. They started the business by doing everything themselves: they had their own nurseries in the Paris region and also repotted the cacti themselves. They recovered used cans and had a printer at home for the customization of the pots.
Today, although the activity has grown, Coralie and Clémentine find it extremely important to maintain this ecological and ethical approach. For the sake of homogeneity and standardization, they have now delegated all this potting work and work with a professional printer, but everything is still done in a traditional way and in a local network, it's really made in Paris.

CW&T is the art and design practice of Che-Wei Wang & Taylor Levy.
They concept, design, and make real the things that they want to see in the world. These are objects and bits of code that they were spurred to make a reality to adapt, augment, and transform our surroundings into something better than what was there before.
The results are thoughtfully made, carefully considered, and overly engineered to do what they do and do it well—often for multiple generations. They’re made for the individual, to patina with your own wear and tear, and become a part of your life. Everything is made to be the last of its kind you’ll ever need.
They sketch, design, and prototype all their products from their Brooklyn studio. What they can’t do in-house, they work closely with talented manufacturers on to bring these into existence. Every step of the way, they’re touching, tweaking, and refining to make it the best it can be.
It’s attention to detail and that makes a CW&T product. They make things how they want them in our world, and if that resonates with you, they think you'll enjoy them in yours too.
The cycling bottle company intends to make a positive contribution to the environment and contribute to reducing disposable plastic. To do so, they work with ‘nature-friendly’ eco materials such as biobased polyethylene made of sugarcane and biodegradable polyethylene.
The bottle are made of biodegradable polyethylene that decomposes in the landfill. The flexibility of this material means it is much more recyclable. On one hand because it is simply made of polyethylene, you can dispose of this bottle in the plastics bin to be 100% recycled. On the other hand, the bottle is biodegradable. This is achieved by adding a bio-batch to the material that changes the molecular structure of the bottle. This had no effect on the use of the bottle until it is in the landfill or is accidentally left behind during a ride through the forest. In the middle of the landfill or under a layer of leaves and soil in the forest, there is heat and humidity. At the correct temperature, the bio-batch additive activates and the bottle decomposes into water, humus and gas. It does not degrade into small pieces of plastic as in oxo-biodegradable materials. The whole composting process in a landfill takes about one to five years. In nature this takes longer. Furthermore, in the landfill the gas can be recaptured for use as an energy source.
Wayks products are made in a facility in North Vietnam. Their manufacturer collaborates with the Fair Wear Foundation which works with factories to verify and improve their workplace conditions. Backpacks are usually made from Nylon or Polyester (PET) based fabrics. Most commonly these yarns are derived from virgin material, that is: Oil. Used plastic bottles are collected, shredded, cleaned, melted, formed into pallets, spun into yarn, and then woven into fabrics.
This both saves lots of energy (and CO2) compared to fabrics made from virgin material and also helps reducing plastic waste.

Yasmine, Sofia et Aurélie created Rive Droite in 2016 together in the purpose the make a difference. To create cool, quality, eco-designed accessories, at the right price, while respecting people and the environment.
Their goals: Working differently. Produce differently. Consume differently. Products are made in Morocco, by talented entrepreneurial dressmakers, from recycled or upcycled materials (denim, cotton).
"Dudes" is the nickname we give to our dressmakers. Dudes is a contraction of "Durable" and "Desirable" in French , and this term has, in English, this kindly side which illustrates their approach. With respect for the environment and the well-being of those who produce and wear them. At the right price.
Founded in 2013 for coffee and tea lovers. The intention was to make a beautifully-designed product for brewing good coffee. Dreamed up with the spirit of never having to choose between aesthetics and functionality, they want to help the coffee aficionados and the brewing beginners alike find the fun in the craft of brewing. The products are designed in San Fransisco and manufactured by their partner in China.
Kinto was born in 1972 from the passion to create products that bring comfort and inspiration into the everyday life. Their products are made at their partner factory in China which sustains high skills and quality standards.
In developing their vacuum insulated tumblers, they applied the vacuum insulation technology that the factory had cultivated and also worked together on incorporating new processing techniques. They also continue to make joint efforts to improve production quality and processes.
When they created the very first Klean Kanteen, their goal was to promote healthy living and respect for the environment by giving people an affordable alternative to plastic bottles. From the get go, they've shared some of the concerns our customers have expressed about manufacturing in China. However, after much time and research into manufacturing options, manufacture of Klean Kanteens in China would allow them to provide a handcrafted product of exceptional quality at a price point that would support broad accessibility and cultivation of mindful, reusable habits.
At Klean Kanteen, they are driven to ensure the materials and operations involved with the manufacture of our products meet acceptable standards for quality and safety, fair labor, ethical business practices, and environmental responsibility.
The manufacturers who produce Klean Kanteen bottles and caps maintain certifications for Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) standards established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The stainless steel supplier for Klean Kanteen production also maintains the ISO 9001 certification, as well as the more intensive ISO/TS 16949 quality management certification required for stainless steel suppliers of auto manufacturers.

It's a world that spans more than 130 years of pioneering innovation, unique style, and world-renowned craftsmanship. Aged 25, George Safford Parker applies for his first pen patent and begins the Parker story with the driving philosophy: “It will always be possible to make a better pen.”
In 1954, production begins on the Jotter, Parker’s famous ballpoint pen. The Jotter sells 3.5 million in its first year and remains popular today. Making a Parker pen is a solemn act of creation. Modern Parker pens are complex mechanisms of up to 21 individual parts designed to work together to produce pens of discerning quality. For the most prestigious lines, meticulously selected materials are enhanced by decorative treatments and manual polishing before being assembled by hand and rigorously tested. Attention to detail is at the core of every Parker pen and it requires experts who have an aesthetic attention to detail.

Bioseptyl is the toothbrush range of La Brosserie Française. Last representative of a traditional activity in the Thérain valley, Bioseptyl resists the globalization effect and has chosen to produce French. Here is its story...
In 1845, Alphonse Dupont created in Beauvais La Brosse et Dupont, a manufacture of brushes, tablets and buttons in the heart of the Thérain valley. Along this river having participated in the development of what quickly became a local tradition, the Beauvais site flourished and employed up to 450 people. Today it has almost 170 years of expertise in the oral and hairbrush sector. But the phenomenon of globalisation is gradually taking its toll on the profitability of the site, as it has done for many French industries. After several takeovers, the definitive closure threatens when the idea of a crazy bet takes shape...
The Made in France bet: Safeguarding a traditional activity in the region, while at the same time making it part of the future: this is the challenge of relocation. In 2012, the site takes its fate in hand, and an employee is putting together a business plan. The management changes hands, and the new company name La Brosserie Française is created: the production tools are gradually repatriated to France, with the will to fight to save local know-how. This means that all products are imagined, developed and produced in France. From now on, the transformation of plastics is done in Perche, then stacking and packaging are done on the historical site of Beauvais. Proximity ensures traceability, product quality and safety, while limiting the impact on the environment.
Eco-design, a priority focus. They strive to minimise the impact on the environment in the following way:
- A reduced use of plastic, in products or packaging.
- The use of solid dyes in order to minimise the use of rinsing solvents.
- The use of recycled cardboard and vegetable ink for our packaging in large and medium-sized stores.
- Recycling, through the reuse of industrial tools and through selective sorting in the factory.
- Local production: small-scale production flows reduce transport and thus emissions from CO₂
- The choice of French suppliers.

Sometimes called Hammam towel or Turkish towel, Peshtemal is a unique towel that is mostly associated with Turkish spas.
Peshtemal originated in the Ottoman Empire (present-day Turkey), and its creation dates back several centuries ago. Trade between the Bosphorus and Europe led to the importation of large numbers of Hamman towels, and they promptly become one of the most popular types of towels.
The towel itself is made from Turkish cotton, which has interesting properties compared to traditional cotton: its longer fiber makes the Peshtemal much stronger and more durable than traditional bath towels. This fiber also has the surprising peculiarity of becoming softer and more absorbent with each wash. Besides, Peshtemal bath towels can be used in many different ways, from tablecloths to picnic blankets or beach towels.
Semih and his family have decided to combine their know-how and services to offer Premium Turkish towels. The cotton used is OEKO-TEX certified, and dyed with healthy and nature-friendly colorants, guaranteeing a piece that combines elegance and quality.

From a student's idea to 10 million seed pencils sold. The idea of the Sprout pencil is very simple: as soon as it becomes too small to write or color, you stick it in! This way, you give it a new life by turning it into herbs, vegetables, or flowers. The Sprout pencil is 100% natural and biodegradable and has become a popular green alternative to plastic ballpoint pens with company logos.
As its founder, Michael Stausholm, says: "Every year an estimated 50 billion ballpoint pens are produced and sold. That's 135 million plastic pens a day! An enormous amount of plastic that sooner or later will end up in landfills. If we could replace just a tiny fraction of plastic pens with plantable pencils, we would have a good reason to be".
Sprout (which means "Brussels sprout" in Brussels parlance) does not only want to sell pencils. They have made it their mission to be the preferred alternative. "If you can stick a pencil in, what else can you do to recycle more?". This is the mindset behind Project Sprout.
The highest ethical and environmental standards are rigorously followed within the manufacturing process and the company, and all pencils are made from PEFC or FSC certified wood. Sprout World is also developing the world's first plantable make-up pencil, which should be launched soon.

Things aren’t being shared evenly in the chocolate supply chain. The chain starts with millions of farmers who produce cocoa and ends with the billions of consumers who enjoy chocolate. But what about the bit in the middle? This section is dominated by a handful of chocolate giants that profit from keeping the price of cocoa as low as possible. Right now there is modern slavery on cocoa farms in West Africa. This is a result of the unequally divided cocoa chain.
Tony’s Chocolonely exists to change that. Illegal child labour and modern slavery are against the law - it needs to stop. The mission: together we’ll make 100% slave free the norm in chocolate.

Top on the list of environmentally friendly materials is the linen shopping bag, which is made in India and certified recyclable according to the Global Recycled Standard. Flax may now be processed in an environmentally sustainable way thanks to the ground retting process. As a result, fibers are extracted naturally on the ground. Additionally, the hackling, combing, spinning, and weaving processes used in the textile industry to convert the plant into yarn are all mechanical. The majority of other fibers require chemical solvents, but not this one. Only when dying or administering particular treatments are precautions necessary. Flax is not only eco-friendly but also waste-free because all of its constituent parts can be utilized.

The jute tote factory, located in India, is certified by Eve Vegan and Global Recycled Standard (GRS). Jute is a natural material whose highly resistant fibre has been used in the textile industry for years. Jute cultivation improves air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. It also improves land quality as the plant's waste products are mixed in with the soil to create fertiliser that is beneficial for the next crop. Unlike plastic or polyethylene, its production is non-polluting. Moreover, its cultivation requires little surface area and therefore few chemical products. Jute fibre is not only biodegradable, but also recyclable. One hectare of this plant consumes almost 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide and then releases 11 tonnes of oxygen through photosynthesis.
