Today, we wanted to take you with us on a typical shoot day at Merchery. You know our selection of products is one of the most important aspects of our business, that’s why we put a lot of attention to it, and also to the pictures we take of it in order to present you with those beauties. "Always come prepared!” - Product Team
A usual day of a shoot at Merchery starts (very) early in the morning. The team meets at 7 am at the office to carpool to Antwerp - where the photographers (and friends) we work with, have their photo studio. The place is really insane! It’s a big 150m2 space, that was an old music academy and where different creatives work. In there, it’s quite cold but amazing. We especially love the beautiful stained-glass ceilings that give it a vibe! What we like less is the cold, but fortunately, there are heaters.
Shooting days are fun and games but at times, stressful because you have to get all the products shot from various angles. There is no time to waste! To have it, as smooth as possible, the Product team prepares the shoots of the new batches for months before they actually happen. They’re super well organized putting every product in a specific order and having tons of files only they know about. It’s a lot of work, and we don’t want it to go unrecognized. Thank you, Product team!
Meet Lichtwaas - Shoutout to James & Arno.
When we get to the studio, James and Arno welcome us with a delicious breakfast (koffie koeken as they say in Dutch) as we start to unpack all the boxes with the products that’ll be photographed on that day. We love their professionalism while always remaining chill! Also, they always put on good tunes, and the whole team is always with our shazam in hand.
And we can’t forget about the sweet company of the dogs, Lucy & Lola. They’re the cutest members of the team, always present but calm. It helps when stress comes.

In three years, that’s already the 11th batch of products which means, 11th shoot! This time we shot 100 products, textiles, and objects from both US & EU catalogs.
The shooting of the products is normally split into two days - Textile and Objects. It makes it easier for everyone but it’s also because we usually have to change the settings.
On the first day, we invited 2 models. This time, it was Lelia & Iannis.
Thank you Iannis and Leila, for playing the game & to always do what you are told. We always shoot, front, back, side of the textiles worn. Nina, Lauren & the interns usually prepare & give the products. Thelma sits behind the computer and directly selects the best pictures. Because at the end, we have a looooot!
On the second day, Tamara from our team, plays the hand model to show the products. We also shoot, front, back, side, and then top shots & sometimes also close-ups. In the end, we do some pictures of bundled products or other creative tests. Thank you Tam!
During both days, the content team is always there too. We’re the little mice with our cameras and phones that capture everything, really everything.
